Head of Science - Wednesday 10th January 2018
Head of Science
MS/UPS and TLR2
Required for September 2018 or sooner
The Governors and Headteacher are looking to recruit a very talented, dynamic and inspirational leader to make a real impact on the progress of our students within Science.
The Peele Community College is a popular, oversubscribed 11-16 College in the rural market town of Long Sutton, which prides itself on excellent staff-student relationships and a strong focus on challenging all students. There has been a significant improvement in GCSE progress, and the Science department is showing an improving trend in results, with a significant proportion of Year 11’s now studying triple science.
The Science department has had significant investment over recent years and is supported by a subject specific HLTA and technician. There is good ICT access for students within Science, with a dedicated computer suite for the department. As well as the regular laboratories, the department also has tiered lecture style facilities. The College also provides extensive opportunities for Professional Development, including links with the Lincolnshire Teaching School Alliance.
Candidates with the potential to inspire, engage and support both students and colleagues to raise attainment and drive forward standards are encouraged to apply for this post, with the possibility of advancement based on performance. The low cost of housing makes the surrounding area an ideal location for people wishing to relocate and a relocation allowance will be available to a suitable candidate.
This is an excellent opportunity for an aspirant or established middle leader who is passionate about helping every student achieve the highest grades they are capable of, working with an open and enthusiastic Science team.
An application pack can be obtained by visiting the College website www.thepeele.co.uk/vacancies
Visits to the college by prospective candidates are warmly welcomed.
Closing date for applications: Friday 9th February 2018
Interviews will be held week commencing: week commencing 26th February 2018
