An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of an ever growing Catering team with Taylor Shaw at The Peele Community College

Mon to Fri term time only 7.30am-2.30pm – occasional evening work. Salary dependant on experience


As Cook you will work under the direction of the Chef Manager and be responsible for cooking main courses/snacks as well as cakes and biscuits.


The ideal candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude in their approach to work, be flexible to work around the needs of the business and be able to work well as part of a team or be self-motivated to work on their own and have excellent craft skills.


You will have previous experience of working in a kitchen ideally in a school/education.


You will have a minimum qualification of NVQ1 or 706/1.

Teacher of Design and Technology Product Design - Friday 31st March 2017

Teacher of Design and Technology Product Design

Required for September 2017

An inspirational teacher is required to drive attainment and progress in this well-resourced and popular department.  The Design and Technology Department is a friendly, committed and enthusiastic team. We work together to ensure our students and staff enjoy their work and achieve their potential. The department is highly ambitious and this is a fantastic opportunity to be part of their journey.  The department is very well resourced and laptops are provided to all staff. There are two dedicated suites of computers as well as a 3D printer and laser cutter.

The ability to teach to GCSE Product Design is essential.  The successful candidate will be required to teach GCSE to Year 9, 10 and 11 as we operate a three year KS4.  At KS3 the candidate will be expected to teach in year7  and 8 and follow the planned scheme of work and utilise the resources in place, the DT department operates a carousel system and you will teach in 13 week blocks .  Within the department, there is a highly experienced Technician who can support with resources and also supports in the delivery of KS4 lessons, having a Textiles Degree.

Due to the increasing popularity of Humanities, we are looking to appoint both a History teacher and a Geography teacher.  The Humanities Department is well lead by two members of staff with support from a highly experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant. The ability to teach to GCSE Geography or History is essential.  The successful candidate will be required to teach GCSE to Year 9, 10 and 11 as we operate a three year KS4.  At KS3 the candidate will be expected to teach in year7 and 8 and follow the planned scheme of work and utilise the resources in place. The Humanities department have got a strong track record of recruiting significant number of students on its programme, and historical has had a wealth of learning outside of the classroom experiences that students are able to engage in.   This is an area that the college wishes to develop even further.
