Head Teacher's Blog 8th September

Welcome to the new weekly Head Teacher's Blog.

First of all I would like to say how honoured I am to be the new Head Teacher here at The Peele. I am looking forward to working closely with all members of the school community and I will be organising events for parents and members of the community to come into school so that I can meet you and get your thoughts on moving the school forward.

It has been a positive and inspiring first week back after the summer break. Our students arrived bright eyed and bushy tailed on Tuesday, they all looked so smart and it makes me so proud to see them and to be part of this school. Lessons and learning have continued apace and the atmosphere around the College has been purposeful, with students commenting that they have enjoyed their first week - although many of them feel quite tired after working so hard!

A great deal of work has been done during the holidays, we have all new IT facilities and the Music room has had a complete facelift. The site team have worked hard to make sure that all areas of the school are clean and bright, so big thanks to them. We are all now focussed on preparing for the Year 6 Open Evening which takes place next Thursday evening from 5.30 - 8.00pm. We are all looking forward to welcoming prospective students and showing them the different subjects and opportunities that we have to offer. Open Evening is always an exciting time so please do come along and join us.

Finally, a big thank you to all of the students and the staff. This has been a wonderful first week because everyone has worked so hard to make it a success. I look forward to many more Blogs where we can celebrate the successes of the students and the school.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Moody
