Head Teacher's Blog 24th November 2017

Hello Everyone, I hope that you have had an enjoyable week - only 4 weeks until Christmas now!

It has been a relatively quiet week here at The Peele - although that doesn't mean we haven't been working hard! After the excitement of ACE Evening (there is a lovely article on the Spalding Guardian website) and Children in Need, it has been back to work and focusing on progress. Our Year 11 are in the middle of their Mocks and for some this has meant a bit of a wake-up call. Mocks continue next week so keep revising Year 11s! Most departments are now offering revision sessions after school and at lunchtimes. There are also revision guides for GCSEs so you should be getting letters home about those.

On Monday 27th November we have the Friends of The Peele Christmas Bingo - please do come along and join in - fun for all the family and lots of brilliant prizes (I have seen the prize cupboard and it is overflowing). If you are able to donate any prizes for the different Friends fundraising activities, please bring them along to reception or send them in. Doors open at 6.30pm on Monday ready for 'eyes down' at 7.30pm. Refreshments will be available.

Next Thursday is our Year 8 Parents Evening from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. Then on 5th December it is our Christmas Performance in Long Sutton Church (7.00pm until 8.30pm) Miss Shaw and her team of musicians and singers are working hard in their rehearsals so please do join us at St Mary's Church to celebrate the season and our students performances.

A short but sweet Blog this week! I would like to end by saying how proud I am of our students here at The Peele - we have had so many visitors in the last few weeks and every single one has commented on how polite, thoughtful, well presented and helpful our students are. Not only that, but every lesson I have visited in the past few weeks has been full of busy, focused students who are working hard with their teachers and making good progress in their lessons. Keep up the hard work everyone and enjoy the sunshine this weekend.
